Programs

We offer classes for children ranging from 2 years, 6 months to PreK age taught by experienced teachers. Sunshine also offers outstanding enrichment programs.
Play is important in developing the social and emotional aspects of young children, and their interaction with others. Our play-based curriculum focuses on the social and emotional development of your children. We want your child to love coming to school every day, and to be prepared to begin the elementary school experience well-equipped and excited about learning.

The Yellow & Blue Room Threes

Our program for our youngest Sunbeams serves those children who are at least 2 years, 6 months by September of the enrollment year. A year in the Blue and Yellow room classes:

  • Encourages social skills through play
  • Facilitates separation from parent
  • Develops independence through self help skills
  • Provides ample time for free play, creative endeavors and gross motor skills
  • Involves exploring nature and the world around them
Schedule: Choice of 2, 3, or 5 days
Hours: 9:00am – 12:30pm (extended day available)

The Green Room

Our Green Room classroom includes children that will proceed to kindergarten next year or who will join us for another preschool year in the Orange room.  The Green Room class:

  • Encourages cooperative learning through play
  • Enhances independence and self – help skills
  • Increases language and confidence through interactions with peers and adults
  • Nurtures kindness and empathy within the class community
  • Supports the development of skills to engage fully in a classroom setting
  • Promotes a love of school and learning
Schedule: Choice of 3, 4 or 5 days
Hours: 8:45am – 12:30pm (extended day available)

Orange Room

Our Orange Room program serves 4 and 5 year old children who either miss the kindergarten cut-off date for their town, or who will benefit from an additional year in a pre-school setting. A year in the Orange Room:

  • Continues to focus on social/emotional growth
  • Increases independence and self-help skills
  • Encourages children to express ideas and thoughts through art and journaling
  • Provides opportunities to explore nature through extensive outdoor time, gardening, and maple-sugaring
  • Engages children in activities that will prepare them to engage fully in kindergarten and to love being in school
Schedule: Choice of 4 or 5 days
Hours: 8:30am – 1:00pm (extended day available)
