Sunshine Nursery School offers play-based programs for children ages 2 years 6 months to five years old, as well as children for whom an extra year of preparation for kindergarten makes sense. Our school day is a based on a half-day program, but we are happy to offer a 7:45am early drop-off as well as an extended day until 4pm, both of which are available on a regular schedule or as-needed basis. Our wonderful staff includes a full-time director and a cadre of highly qualified teachers, all of whom are former Sunshine parents many of whom have worked as a team for more than a decade. Together, we strive to create a warm, nurturing, loving community for your children where they will develop a love of learning that will lay a strong foundation for their future.
Our licensed childcare center began as the only semi-cooperative preschool in Arlington over 65 year ago. The founders wanted to establish a school where the parents would be welcomed and involved in their child’s first years of school. Sunshine Nursery School continues to recognize the importance of family involvement. Even though parents are no longer required to serve in the classroom, we welcome parents and caregivers in our school, and we strive to have a tight home/school connection. Families and caregivers are invited to join their children in the classroom throughout the year for a “special day” as their schedule permits. Our teachers and administrators place a very high value on communication and collaboration with families to provide the best possible experience for the children.
